Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir is one of the holiest Hindu temples. It is dedicated to Ma Vaishno the incarnation of Shakti (Power). The temple is located in the hills named after the deity in Jammu region of India. In Hinduism, Vaishno Devi, also known as Mata Rani and Vaishnavi, is a manifestation of the Mother Goddess.

The temple is near the town of Katra, in the Jammu district in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most revered places of worship in Northern India. The shrine is at an altitude of 5200 feet and a distance of approximately 13 kilometres from Katra.

It is a popular belief that one cannot visit the mother unless she calls and millions of devotees flok every year to this site especially in Navratra festivals to pay homage to the mother and ask for her blessings. The toiling journey to the shrine is done on foot by majority of people, it signifies the toils and trials of life and to show their devotion to the mother so that she judge their efforts to be worthy.


Itinerary

Tour Package Duration - 03 Days / 02 Nights

Day 01: Jammu - Katra
Arrive Jammu and transfer to Hotel in Katra (45 kms/1 hr). The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 02: Katra - Vaishnodevi - Katra
Early morning begin your 14 kms(5-6 hrs) trek* to visit temple of Vaishno Devi and return to Katra late evening. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Jammu
Katra - Jammu Transfer by road to Jammu.
